Chrissy Abria (born 1986) grew up in the Philippines and moved to Germany (Hanover) when she was 9 years old. She was already dedicated to art in her childhood and was very active in this field (painting / drawing). However, after finishing school she decided to learn a profession in electrical engineering, which she still does today. Art took a back seat. Chrissy has lived with her family in Nordrhein-Westfalen (Willich) since 2005. Her daughter was born in 2015 and Chrissy's interest in art grew again, with success.
Chrissy Abria developed a passion for realistic art, especially oil painting.
She subsequently completed an academic training programme in old master oil painting.
As tradition dictates, Chrissy begins her works in the Old Master technique with underpainting, after which the colours are glazed in layers. Due to the lengthy process, the result is an inspiring depiction of reality.
Inspired by her worldwide travels, Chrissy gives her pictures a special atmosphere that immerses the viewer in a new world.
Her intention is that the viewer can take on new perspectives in order to create dimensions.
Resin art is important in this context.
Chrissy has discovered the undiscovered three-dimensional depth of epoxy resin and realises it in the artistic scene.
Due to the potential dangers of epoxy resin, safety is paramount with the use of appropriate equipment.
The unique thing about resin is the crystal clear, mirror-like result where the flow of the resin cannot be controlled.
The result is unique due to the indeterminacy of the result.
Be inspired and accompany Chrissy Abria on her unfinished journey.
